Sunday in The Lovely San Juan Bautista

Sunday afternoon a wild crew headed to San Juan Bautista for my friend's (BE) wedding reception. She looked so gorgeous! She got her dress in Provo, UT, and it was so unique and beautiful...I'll be honest I feel like most LDS brides (more specifically UT brides) have the same dresses so I find it both surprising and refreshing Brygn was able to find it in Provo. It was an awesome and fun evening catching up with friends and eating the best butternut squash ravioli I've ever tasted in my life! Thanks to the wonderful Ellwanger family for having us!

The Water Filter and LS...the wild part of our crew. Going to miss the Water Filter dearly! She leaves next Wednesday to serve a mission for our church.

The happy couple!!

A Fun Filled Weekend

This weekend was full of celebrations and partying!

1. Friday night started with celebrating the JN/DFN union with a delicious and heartwarming pre-wedding dinner.
2. Saturday morning TB and I started the morning with a temple session, followed by watching the bliss of JN/DFN post temple sealing.
3. Golfing with HC...the girl has natural talent and I am making it my personal mission to have HC become an avid golfer one day.
4. Yumi Yogurt with HC and MB...so refreshing...and nice to spend the time with these two before I take off.
5. Dinner with TB and KM. I didn't think I was a hummus fan...and I've been proven wrong. The Rawles were correct, Oren's Hummus Shop is delicious.
6. Going away party for Rebs! Whom is now an officer in training (OT) in the Air Force. I will miss her dearly!!!
7. Sunday HN made breakfast for lunch...my fav! (thank you!) And then I headed to the Ellwanger wedding to party.

Good thing Monday I don't have to work. :)

Adios HP, Hello Freedom

Last day of work at HP was a glorious day. I was like a kid pumped up on candy. I could not sit still. I will admit to dancing in the bathroom to Jackson 5 while getting ready to go into the office. This picture is a great glimpse into my attitude and my color blocking style in general.
5 years later and 20 lbs lighter (literally and metaphorically speaking) I excitedly turned in this little gem and left the building mid-day. Unlike when I arrived at HP I left the building alone and quietly...but skipped to my car (yes I literally skipped) and cranked the music up when I got in my car. Followed by a delicious La Bamba burrito with kt to celebrate.
My last drive down Page Mill Rd after work...

Jess Berry Quote of The Day!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

The Countdown Continues...

2 days left at HP!!!

I cannot help but be completely excited. It is like waiting for Christmas morning, but slightly better.

15 days left in the Bay...

It is flying by so fast, almost too quickly. So many goodbyes to be said.

Wonderful Easter Weekend!

This is truly a blessed time of year. This particular weekend was especially wonderful.
Let's review:
Celebrated Good Friday with the Perrys and Shoes. Burritos (yum!)

The Masters all weekend! (After Saturday I was sure my fellow lefty, Phil, was going to take his 4th green jacket but alas he couldn't sink the right putts and had a bad triple bogey that he never recovered from.) At least another lefty won.

Some refreshing DP for my Masters viewing.

Opening Day of Baseball!  After a rough start over the weekend the Yanks are coming back. Let us remember: slow and steady wins the race.

Beautiful Easter sacrament meeting, filled with music from angels!

Easter dinner consisting of the following: Sloppy Dans, homemade rolls, salad, green beans, coconut cake, no-bakes, and Easter candy to cleanse the pallet. Dinner was so delicious and entertaining! From MB peppering DF(N) with 10,000 questions, to CBL's strong opinions on table cloths (totally agree with her), to cloth diapers (you must understand when all your guests are married and one pregnant this is normal), to JN explaining the novelty of Velcro this evening was never boring to say the least. We sure missed Jepsons and Richards though.
Easter reunion 2013 in Idaho?

Good News: He Is Risen

This week as my chronic aches, pains, and fatigue seemed at moments unbearable I watched this video and it gave me a needed reality check. Christ chose to be sacrificed so that He could rise again, providing each of us the opportunity to obtain a resurrected body.

D&C 138: 14 states: "All these had departed the mortal life, firm in the ahope of a glorious bresurrection, through the cgrace of God the dFather and his eOnly Begotten Son, Jesus Christ."

This is my firm hope as well! I yearn for the glorious resurrection day made possible through our Savior, Jesus Christ. The beauty however in this mortal life is that we do struggle, that we have aches and pains, to help us remember how much we are in need of a Savior, of His Atonement, of His Resurrection.  For many in my age demographic the gift of the resurrection, of a perfected body may not seem very significant right now while you're in your "prime". One day, maybe this Easter when you ponder the Savior's sacrifice, maybe when your 50 years old and you're needing bifocals to read, maybe when you lose a loved to death, it will prick your heart how glorious this precious gift is now and will be when we receive it. How this knowledge that He Is Risen is truly the firm hope that will increase your capacity to handle your personal struggles and will give you the courage and strength in this brief moment of mortality to be happy amid the aches, pains, and fatigue that may plague your body and/or your heart.  This I know to be true, from the very depths of my soul. Look forward with an eye of faith and a hope in the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Happy Easter!

Never Give Up On Your Goals

Last December I posted on my December goals.  I met six of my seven goals that month. I failed miserably at my first goal: clean my inbox to ZERO. Well I might be four months behind but today I met my goal!! Woohoo (according to Gmail). I hope this zero unread emails last at least an hour...
Just remember: Slow and steady wins the race!

PS: Fridays are great! 5.5 days left HP. Burritos tonight with the Perrys and the Shoes. A little extra sleep and an whole apartment to myself. :)

Happy Easter Weekend!
