This past weekend we made a mad dash to Canada to see some of my favorite family members (I am serious...these Canadians are crazy and funny). Kassie Jo was sealed to Uncle Rod and Aunt Ann...now she's stuck with us forever! It was a beautiful day. Thanks for letting us come!
(I'm taller than Kassie Jo)
When we arrived we participated in what I consider a truly Canadian event...watching Hockey! My cousin's son played hockey Friday night and it was a blast to watch. For a bunch 12 year old kids there sure was a lot of body checking. Our cousin was in the penalty box three times and another kid got ejected...it was glorious to watch.
Our very first stop was boot shopping. I've been coveting Kassie Jo's boots for over two years now and so Uncle Rod promised to take me to find my own. They are beautiful! And Poncho is excited that his granddaughter now has boots to ride horses.
Saturday afternoon we also got to watch my other cousin's son play soccer (indoor). In the words of Laura, soccer is a gentleman's sport in Canada...at least compared to hockey. I'm sure if we could have stayed longer we would have watched all the little cousins play in sporting events and/or dance.
While visiting I recorded a few one liners from Uncle Rod. This man is hilarious! I just love listening to him because you know some gem is bound to come out.
Here are a couple:
Why do we have to be reverent in church? Because people are sleeping.
Go the extra mile, it's not crowded there.
And my favorite: You must be a redneck if you think fast food is hitting a deer at 60 mph.
Also, they have this little gem in the bathroom at their home:
Pure Truth right there.
