Documenting The Filming

The video for the Mormon Message contest will be submitted Monday. Here is a peak at some of the filming. A huge thanks to Alex, Jair, Kimi, Nicole, and Matt for the time they've spent putting this together! Also, a huge thanks to all those participants! I appreciate the service you give to me and for sacrificing your time to help with this endeavor.
Alex, the mastermind!

Jair...the entertainment...I kid. :)
HK, ready to be interviewed.
P&J
Hammer, filming the filming...only Hammer would do this.
CW, me, and Kimi
Again, the entertainment.

For "not" being a sball player CW did very well!

Jess Berry Quote of The Day

We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes. And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead, we remember that faith is always pointed toward the future.

Jess Berry Quote of The Day

Courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyways.

John Wayne

Ice Ice Baby

I have one weakness when it comes to music: Ice Ice Baby. When this song is played my feet start to tap, my head bang starts (just ask my college roommates about that head bang), and the hips get in their groove. LS captured me mid-Ice above, a rare glimpse into the unlaced version of me. My favorite portion of the song is clearly, "word to your mother" (yes Mama Berry knows this)! Yes I also happen to be listening to a little Ice Ice Baby as I'm blogging right now.

Where Our Happiness Lies

Happiness does not depend on what happens outside of you, but on what happens inside of you. It is measured by the spirit with which you meet the problems of life.

Blog Redesign!

Meet Blog Designer KT and Quality Control BC

It is every blogger's dream that for Thursday date night with The Christmas family to have dinner + blog redesign + yummy chocolate chip cookies. I got all three thanks to KT and BC! This is KT's second blog redesign of the Jess blog. She's becoming increasingly more impressive each time. Let's be honest, I hope that KT will be the master designer of my blog indefinitely. Thanks so much!

A few reasons why I heart these two kids:
1. Killer bread sticks with dinner (thanks BC)
2. Obviously the blog redesign
3. Introducing me to Angry Birds
4. They both have the right dose of swagger
5. BC explaining my Droid WiFi to me
6. KT reminding me to relax in the "uncontrollable areas of life"
7. And because they are still in the adorable stage of being cute newlyweds

Resilient Then...Resilient Still

Even as three year old I was geared up and ready for the pitches to be thrown my way! Seeing this spunky face reminds me that I'm still ready in the words of Jack Berry to "spit in that damn mitt" and not miss again!

Sadness and sorrow at times come to all, including children. But children are resilient. They bear up beautifully to shoulder the burden they may be called upon to endure. Perhaps the lovely psalm describes this virtue: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” 15

Jess Berry Quote Of The Day!

I like people who make me like them. It saves me the trouble of forcing myself to like them.

BBQ Dinner Courtesy of DB

***Photos courtesy of TB, since she knew I'd post them she was nice enough to document the evening***
The spread! What you can't see: the chicken and corn on the cob.
JP and TB
CE and JP
JB and DB, the lovely hostess!
There is nothing better than corn cut from the cob! This is courtesy of JP. Growing up I hardly ever ate corn straight from the cob. Both of my grandparents had dentures so we always cut it off...so delicious and in the words of HN, so sentimental too!

Thanks DB for a delicious and delightful evening!

Love These Ladies...But Missed Gari!

SJ, JB, and SEC

SJ, SEC, little EJ and I got together over the holidays, Gari couldn't make it this year. Clearly if you compare the two photos here you'll realize that we really missed Gari, especially her long arms! Her role as photographer is irreplaceable, even though SEC was a good stand-in. I sure love these ladies. We are all still a little crazy (some of us more crazy than others). Thanks for a great time girls! Next time we'll have Gari with us!

Happy Birthday Poncho Villa!

Poncho turned the BIG 70 (aka 39 years old as he likes to say)! In honor of this amazing feat look at the AWESOME Yankees snuggie he got!!! My favorite Yankee fan! He might be rough and tough but he's got a marshmallow heart, just the way I like it. Happy Birthday Poncho! Love you!

PS...I want one of these for my birthday (hint hint)
